EXCLUSIVE: Screen Star of Tomorrow 2026 Luís Hindman and Boarders director Yero Timi-Biu are among the 15 writers, directors and producers selected for this year’s edition of BFI Network@LFF.
Hindman’s upcoming feature projects include Beasts, a political thriller produced by SunnyMarch and written by actor Nikhil Parmar, and family saga Little Man, produced by Sorcha Bacon for Try Hard Film.
Timi-Biu was lead director of the final series of the BBC’s comedy drama Boarders and directed episodes of the Lenny Henry-created Bafta-winning historic drama Three Little Birds for ITV. She is developing her debut feature film thriller.
Joining them is director Kaki Wong, whose debut feature I Heard That They Are Not Going To See Each Other Anymore world premiered at CPH:DOX and Scotland-based writer-director Lisa Clarkson, who won the 2025 BAFTA Scotland Award in the compact film and animation category for Paternal Advice.
The programme is delivered by BFI Network with support from BFI Doc Society Fund through National Lottery funding. Participants receive an intensive programme of masterclasses, screenings and events with industry professionals.
Alumni with films screening at this year’s BFI London Film Festival include writer/director Billy Lumby with Florid, Alex Polunin as a producer on Lady, Black Church Bay and Filipñana, plus his Filipñana collaborator, writer/director Rafael Manuel.
