Fare thee well, ‘Untitled Cliff Booth Movie’. See also: ‘The Adventures Of Cliff Booth’. Because, finally, we know what the unexpected sequel-of-sorts to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is actually going to be called. The film is a fascinating combination of talents – with Brad Pitt returning, of course, as Cliff Booth (Hollywood stuntman and counterpart to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton), Quentin Tarantino penning the screenplay, and none other than David Fincher taking the editorial reins.
Now, it’s official: the film is called The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth. So, the rumours weren’t far off. But now we know these are ‘Mis-Adventures’ (does Booth have any other kind?) and further to any we’ve seen before. There’s little extra info on the film itself, but Netflix has confirmed that it’s set in 1977 – eight years after the events of OUATIH – and that it sees booth in “a very different Hollywood”. What we do know is that Cliff Booth will be getting an IMAX release from November 25 this year, ahead of a lunch on Netflix just in time for Christmas on December 23.
As for what Mis-Adventures await Booth this time, that remains to be seen. But Pitt will be joined by the likes of Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller. Will we get an appearance from Rick Dalton? Will it feel equal parts Tarantino and Fincher? And will Pitt win himself another Oscar for his return to the role that bagged him the gong in the first place? We’ll find out later in 2026.
