“There’s a monster in these woods.” 4Digital Media has revealed the official trailer for an indie horror film titled His Monster, which is heading directly to a VOD release starting early October this horror season. Directed by Erich Cannon, His Monster premiered last year at a few festivals and is ready to view at home. When his juvenile daughter is mysteriously swept out to sea, a struggling alcoholic believes it to be a monster that attacked her. James remains alone, searching the woods and finding nothing. But when people around him start dying, only he really believes in what it is that’s killing them. An atmospheric, mysterious horror thriller featuring some nice indie vibes. Starring Gabriel Casdorph and Meranda Long. From the same filmmaker also behind The Cuckoo Clock indie horror. There’s a creepy frosty practical monster hiding in this.

James Streeter (Gabriel Casdorph) loses everything—his family, his stability, and his place in the world—when his daughter is mysteriously swept out to sea. Convinced she was taken by something inhuman, a monster from Japanese folklore, James isolates himself, wandering the surrounding woods in a desperate search for answers, finding solace at the bottom of an empty bottle. His Monster is directed by Scottish producer / filmmaker Erich Cannon, director of the film Braving Rapids, and producer on The Cuckoo Clock. The screenplay is written by Erich Cannon; story by Nathan D. Lee & Erich Cannon. Also produced by Erich Cannon. This first premiered at the 2025 Olde Town Film Festival last year. 4Digital Media will debut Cannon’s His Monster horror film direct-to-VOD starting on October 5th, 2026 this fall. Look any good?
