We’re sure Miranda Priestly would raise her eyebrow or twist her mouth in utter disapproval if she got this news. This week, Anne Hathaway’s production company Somewhere Pictures announced the Cerulean Collection, a capsule to the exact shade of blue that earned the naive Andy Sachs a fashion-related dressing down in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada.

Indeed, just saying “cerulean” brings to mind the now legendary scene in the film where an impatient Miranda explains to her up-to-date assistant the artistic and economic value of Andy’s cable-knit blue sweater. In Miranda’s immortal words, “It’s not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean.” (Surprisingly, Meryl Streep herself wore a nearly identical sweater during an appearance on Late Night with Stephen Colbert last week.)

Well, upon closer inspection, Andy seems to have understood the lesson. Now, as the sequel’s stars embark a global promotional tour, Hathaway has been wearing T-shirts and sweatshirts in the exact color that caused the discord. Now, no one will ever forget that cerulean is a specific shade because it has its own color code: DWP2-010526, which stands for Devil Wears Prada 2, followed by the release date of the film in America (May 1, 2026).
