Outside on the red carpet, the stars of the film were just arriving. Hathaway proved why People chose her for the cover of its World’s Most Beautiful issue, wearing a Louis Vuitton dress in a color of red that would make the devil himself envious. (Talk about method dressing.) Streep took a page from the same playbook, pairing her red Givenchy by Sarah Burton fall-winter 2026 dress with black gloves. Tucci, who reprises his role as Miranda’s right-hand man Nigel Kipling, opted for Giorgio Armani, while his real life sister-in-law Blunt, who plays the oft maligned first assistant Emily Charlton, looked gorgeous in Schiaparelli spring 2026 couture. (For the uninitiated: Tucci has been married to Emily’s sister, Felicity, since 2012. Emily introduced the two after she met Tucci—where else?—on the set of The Devil Wears Prada.)

It was a family affair at the premiere as Streep’s daughter, Love Story standout Grace Gummer, chatted with her husband, Grammy-winning producer Mark Ronson, before the screening began. She wore a white Bottega Veneta jumpsuit; he was clad in Armani. “I’ve been doing a Miranda number in drag for four years now, so it means everything to me,” Canada’s Drag Race host Brooke Lynn Hytes told me, in a look she described as Miranda Priestly meets Studio 54 back in the day. “It’s a paycheck. She’s making me money.” Her pal and fellow Drag Race alum Thorgy Thor opted out of character cosplay, instead dressing as the devil.

Together, they towered over the crowd, posing for photos at the bar with Harlow and other eager fans. Hytes wasn’t the only one paying homage to Miranda: Influencer and fashion designer Evan Hirsch showed up with arguably the most elaborate homage to the character, wearing a cerulean cape with the entire speech from the first film written on the back.

The Sex Lives of College Girls star Pauline Chalamet also counts herself as a huge Devil Wears Prada fan, and remembers seeing the original at Lincoln Plaza Cinemas like the native New Yorker she is. Twenty years later, she appears in the sequel as a harried Runway employee. “I can’t believe I’m here,” she said, wearing Honor. Bridgerton breakout Simone Ashley, who also stars in The Devil Wears Prada 2 as Miranda’s recent first assistant, stunned nearby in custom Prada. “This is like Coachella for queer people because of all the activations,” said comedian Milly Tamarez, who appears in the film opposite fellow comedian and podcaster Catherine Cohen. “To receive monogrammed tweezers at The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere is one of the greatest honors of my life,” joked Cohen.

“I remember seeing the movie and thinking, I’m going to be that woman in the cobblestones,” fashion influencer Leandra Cohen told me. “When I watch it now, it feels extremely nostalgic. And this feels like a full-circle moment.”
