TIFF: The Market (September 10-16) has teased its inaugural summit programming and announced that Warner Bros film group co-heads Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca will join TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey in an on-stage conversation on September 11.

The Dialogues session will explore the evolving role of studios in an increasingly global marketplace, the art of identifying and developing award-winning features, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the current entertainment landscape and the future of film.

Abdy and De Luca are coming off a spectacular 2025 and awards season that saw Warner Bros garner six Oscars for One Battle After Another including best film, four for Sinners, and one for Weapons.

Last year the studio released seven consecutive films at the North American box office that opened on at least $40m, and its films amassed more than $4bn at the global box office.

Abdy and De Luca are a coveted pair of executives known for their talent relations and exceptional eye, however their future has been the subject of Hollywood chatter of slow – as is the case with many executives at both studios – in delicate of Paramount’s proposed $111bn merger with Warner Bros Discovery.

“Their insights and experience make them ideal voices for this pivotal moment and invaluable contributors to the marquee conversations that will define the expansive slate of Market programming,” Bailey said.

“For more than half a century, TIFF has championed bold creative visions, serving as a global stage where films of every genre can be discovered and celebrated. That same spirit drives Warner Bros., where we remain committed to nurturing distinctive voices across each of the studio’s theatrical labels,” Abdy and De Luca said.
