Intense glances abound in the debut trailer for the second season of My Life with the Walter Boys. Over the weekend, the production’s leading cast members — Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, and Ashby Gentry — took the main stage at the Calgary Stampede in Calgary, Canada to announce that Thursday, August 28 had been set as the official date for the show’s highly-anticipated return, and now, we’re getting a sneak peek of the drama set to unfold. The first season was majorly divisive among audiences and critics, with the latter slamming it with a 42% approval rating and the former lifting it up with 71%. While we may need to wait a few weeks until the next reviews roll in, today’s teaser sets the tone for what viewers can expect as the love triangle between Jackie (Rodriguez), Cole (LaLonde), and Alex (Gentry) heats up.
The Season 1 finale left audiences on a cliffhanger in more ways than one. During the show’s 10-episode debut, fans tuned in to find out which brother — Cole or Alex — Jackie would end up with. A shocking twist came during the last moments of the finale after Jackie shared a passionate kiss with Cole only to leave her newly formed life in Colorado behind and move back to New York City. That’s where the trailer picks up, as we see Jackie settling back into the bustling world of the Big Apple. After spending all summer in New York, Jackie seems to be more torn than ever, although some encouraging words from Katherine (Sarah Rafferty) remind her that she’ll always be part of the family. As she takes the steps necessary to stay true to herself and make the decisions that best serve her, the two boys vying for her affection are also reunited, with each making room for the best newborn man to win.
‘My Life with the Walter Boys’ Will Continue No Matter How Season 2 Is Received
The good news for those who fell in love with Netflix’s latest love triangle is that there are plenty more episodes of My Life with the Walter Boys on the way. Back in May, it was revealed that the streamer had decided to push forward with the third season of its answer to Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty. So, whether critics end up despising the sophomore installment or falling head over heels, there will still be at least one more chapter to the story.
Check out the debut trailer for My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 above and watch the next part of the tale unfold when the title arrives on Netflix on August 28.
