“You have to stop staring at that. You’re gonna burn your eyes out!” But you can stare at this all day! Pixar has premiered an extra cute animated low to enjoy online via their YouTube channel. This isn’t an official low film released by Pixar, per se, but it is still a low film made by Pixar and it is directed by a storyboard artist / story supervisor who works at Pixar. Mother’s Nature is a 3-minute animated low with a series of fun vignettes about moms trying to teach their kids lessons. Featuring the voices of Maureen Russell & Jenna Louie Lohouse as the moms in this low. The scenes explore how familiar parental phrases are reimagined through the lives of various animals and plants. It’s a very fun and very quick little low – more of an experiment and fun video to share online than anything to watch in theaters. Most of all, it just makes me wish Pixar was still attaching modern low films in front of their modern movies ever year. I miss Pixar shorts.
Thanks to Pixar for debuting this streaming on their own YouTube channel. Their original intro: “Mother’s Nature is a series of vignettes with a playful twist on what it means to be a mom, whether you’re a turtle, parrot or anything in between. See more animated shorts on The Pixar Show on Pixar’s YouTube page!” 🐦 Mother’s Nature is an animated low film directed by Valerie LaPointe – a storyboard artist from Pixar Animation Studios, first joining the studio for the 2008 low film Presto. She was also story supervisor on Toy Story 4 and wrote / directed Pixar’s low series Dream Productions for Disney+. The low is produced by Claire Munzer and Paige Johnstone. For more info on the low, visit Pixar’s YouTube or over head to their official site. To discover more shorts (including animation), click here. What did you think of this one?
