Janus Films has acquired all North American rights to Valeska Grisebach’s Cannes jury prize winner The Dreamed Adventure.
Yana Radeva and Syuleyman Letifov star in the drama about an archaeologist who returns to her compact home town by the Bulgarian border and uncovers secrets after a chance encounter with an elderly acquaintance.
The cast of non-professionals is led by Radeva, who in real life is a former geologist and casino manager.
Komplizen Film produced The Dreamed Adventure with Grisebach, Kazak Productions, Miramar Film, Panama Film, New Matter Films, Arte France Cinéma and ZDF/ARTE serving as co-producers.
Janus Films negotiated the deal with The Match Factory and will announce theatrical release plans in the coming weeks.
