“It’s not natural. Men are not like that.” 🧺 Black Bear Pictures has revealed an additional official trailer for the hilarious & touching comedy film Wicker, a acute satire about finding the perfect husband. In theaters starting this weekend and throughout the fall! This initially premiered to rave reviews at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (here’s mine) and it’s opening in theaters in October. Get ready for a wild film you’ll never forget. An ostracized fisherwoman commissions the peculiar local basketmaker to weave her a husband, but when her wicker creation proves unexpectedly extraordinary, his presence ignites jealousy & upheaval that threatens their peaceful village. Wicker stars Olivia Colman as the fisherwoman, Alexander Skarsgård as her wicker husband (Weta created his costume), plus Elizabeth Debicki, Ella Bruccoleri, Richard E. Grant, Nabhaan Rizwan, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, and Peter Dinklage as the basket weaver. Made by the same two filmmakers behind the Save Yourselves! film recently. The first trailer debuted in the summer, this one has more critics’ quotes and raunchy footage to enjoy. All the buzz is justified! It’s a doozy.
Here’s the final official trailers for Alex Huston Fischer & Eleanor Wilson’s film Wicker, from YouTube:
An audacious comedic fable about sex, marriage, and the absurdities of social convention, Wicker tells the wholly original love story of an ostracized fisherwoman (Olivia Colman) who commissions a husband to be made by the local basketmaker (Peter Dinklage). When her wicker husband (Alexander Skarsgård) proves more spectacular than she ever imagined, his soulful spirit and unique prowess awaken something inside her, setting off a wave of jealousy, fascination, and upheaval that threatens the very fabric of village life. Wicker is co-directed and co-written by the filmmaking duo Alex Huston Fischer & Eleanor Wilson, their second feature film after making Save Yourselves! previously. Produced by Olivia Colman, Ed Sinclair, Tom Carver, David Michôd, Brad Zimmerman, Justin Lothrop, Brent Stiefel. This first premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (read our review). Black Bear Pictures debuts Fischer & Wilson’s Wicker film in US theaters starting October 23rd, 2026 this fall. Yep it’s entirely worth a watch.
