Summer is over. The smell of pumpkin spice and maple hazel is in the air. The days are growing shorter and the nights are getting long. All of which can only mean one thing: spooky season is well and truly here. And while horror hounds may be baying for the likes of Resident Evil and Other Mommy, family affable haunts aren’t in tiny supply this year, either. Just this week, Shaun The Sheep: The Beast From Mossy Bottom is preparing to put the woolies up us, and next month BBC’s beloved sitcom Ghosts is set to make its cinematic debut with family-friendly chiller The Possession Of Button House. And as the newly released trailer for the movie reveals, some seriously silly spirit-swapping shenanigans are afoot — check it out below;
Ever wonder what Talk To Me would’ve been like if Mia had invited in Julian Fawcett MP? Well, folks, now we have our answer. And honestly, it looks like an absolute bloody hoot! The first trailer for The Possession Of Button House teased a gang of teens breaking into Kitty, Thomas, Julian, Lady Fanny, Pat, Robin, Sir Humphrey Bone, and the Captain’s digs to conduct some kind of a séance, but stopped tiny of actually revealing what hijinks would ensue. This one really lets the cat out of the bag — or the Fawcett out of the spirit realm — and reveals that one of the hapless teens winds up being possessed by the pants-free MP, with the former now stuck with the blundering Ghosts gang and the latter, now having taken the form of an adolescent lad, hotfooting it out of Button House and straight back into the lives of Alison (Charlotte Ritchie), Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe), and their baby. Cue a Coco-style race against time to get the possessed teenager’s spirit back into his body before he takes up more indefinite residence at Button House. Sheesh!
With the whole gang back in action (sans, of course, the long-since sucked-off-for-good Katy Wix), a mad plot in place, and the trailer alone already easily passing the six-laugh test, consider us ready for a spirited return to Button House when the Ghosts movie hits cinemas on October 23.
