It’s time to fire up the Fiat Cinquecento one more time, friends (“Ooh, friend!”) — The Inbetweeners are back back back! Now, yes, technically we’ve known that Will, Jay, Simon, and Neil are heading back to our screens for a little while now, with Netflix officially confirming the misfit bunch’s cinematic comeback just last month, but now we’ve got actual actual proof that the boys are back in town: Iain Morris and Damon Beesley’s crude comedy comeback has now entered production and we’ve even got a nostalgia triggering first teaser for the lads’ return. Check it out below;

Oral sex joke? Check! Hideous, yellow clapped-out banger with a replacement red door? Check! A vague look of bemusement on Simon Bird’s face, a vague look of bewilderment on Blake Harrison’s, Joe Thomas muttering “For fuck’s sake” as his car won’t start, and a now-beardy James Buckley looking ripe for mischief in the rear? (Steady on…) That’ll be a quadruple check, folks. Yeah, we’re thinkin’ The Inbetweeners is back! And while 40-odd seconds of all-teaser, no-trailer doesn’t exactly tell us much about the film heading our way, we’d be lying if we said the sight of the boys together again didn’t hit us in the feels just a bit… after all, it has been 12 whole years and about seven Prime Ministers since Will and co were last causing chaos on our screens.

Now, we’ve still got no actual idea what Morris and Beesley’s sequel to 2014’s The Inbetweeners 2 — itself a follow-up to both The Inbetweeners Movie and its originating three-season spanning Channel 4 high school comedy — will entail just yet. Could it be a thoughtful, melancholic road movie reckoning with the ghosts of an impetuous, misbegotten youth and the inexorable march of time as one approaches middle age? Or perhaps a straight-up cavalcade of clunge jokes, inappropriate sexual remarks, and cringe-out moments held together by in-jokes, nostalgia, and the winning chemistry of the show’s original cast? Honestly, all bets are off. But with the cameras rolling, the Fiat out of storage, and the communal need to return to simpler times via the medium of pop culture nostalgia at an all-time high, consider us locked in and ready for The Inbetweeners 3. Briefcase wankers of the world, unite!
