Magnolia Pictures has picked up North American rights to John Wilson’s Sundance documentary The History Of Concrete and is planning a theatrical release later this year.

Wilson, who will be known to many viewers through his HBO show How To With John Wilson, produced the examination of the ubiquitous construction material alongside Clark Filio, Shirel Kozak, and Allie Viti.

Executive producers are by Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie, Eli Bush, Safdie’s writing partner Ronald Bronstein, Conor Hannon, and Richie Doyle.

Magnolia SVP of Acquisitions John Von Thaden negotiated the deal with UTA Independent Film Group on behalf of the filmmakers.
