While fans continue waiting for news on the series’ cinematic future, Walt Disney Records has unveiled a brand-new collectible release celebrating one of its most beloved adventures, in the form of the first-ever vinyl release of Hans Zimmer’s acclaimed score for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. The soundtrack will arrive on vintage “Bottle Clear” vinyl on Sept. 25, with pre-orders now live. Released in 2006, the sequel became a global phenomenon, grossing more than $1.06 billion worldwide to become the highest-grossing film of the year and the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie to cross the billion-dollar mark.
Dead Man’s Chest follows Captain Jack Sparrow, who you may have heard of, as he discovers he might just owe a blood debt to Davy Jones, the captain of the Flying Dutchman. The only problem is that the legendary Jones happens to have supernatural powers, and he looks a bit like a squid too. With Jones determined to claim Jack’s soul, Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann become entangled in a race for the Dead Man’s Chest, a mystical artifact that could change all of their fates.
