“David’s dead. But Night City lives on.” Get ready to return to Night City again. Netflix has unveiled a first look teaser trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the next anime series set in the Cyberpunk universe. This is an announcement promo stating that the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners sequel is “now in production.” No release date is set – most likely it will debut in early 2026. This anime series is set in the world of (the video game) Cyberpunk 2077 – it’s produced by TRIGGER under the supervision of CD Projekt RED. It’s also a continuation of the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series which first launched on Netflix in 2022 (watch the trailer). Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will mark the directorial debut of Kai Ikarashi, with Ichigo Kanno as lead character designer. No other details are known yet – but this teaser indicates some Night City characters will be back for more. There’s also a romance teased in this footage… Only a few glimpses so far, just a good way to keep fans excited knowing that a up-to-date batch of episodes is in the works now. Have a look.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a up-to-date standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077— a raw chronicle of redemption & revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter? Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, also stylized as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II, is a continuation of sci-fi series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022) inspired by the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. Director Kai Ikarashi (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, SSSS.Gridman) brings a bold, cinematic vision to the series, supported by the lead character designer Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners). They’re joined by returning collaborators Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare) and Hugo Award winner Bartosz Sztybor as the series showrunner, writer, and producer. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is created in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED and animation studio TRIGGER, with a planned release on Netflix in the future. It’s in the works now, so Netflix will debut Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 most likely early 2026. Stay tuned for updates.
